The Belize Book Sector Network (BBSN) looks forward to returning to the Feria Internacional de la Lectura Yucatán (FILEY) in Mérida, Mexico, from 13–21 March 2027. Following our participation in the 2026 fair, we aim to continue bringing Belizean books, authors, and publishers to a wider regional audience.
FILEY is one of the region’s major literary events, bringing together readers, writers, publishers, educators, and booksellers for a vibrant celebration of books and culture. The 2026 edition attracted approximately 255,000 visitors and featured hundreds of exhibitors and publishing imprints, alongside a varied programme of author talks, panel discussions, workshops, performances, and other cultural activities.
Showcasing Belizean Literature
At FILEY 2026, BBSN hosted a booth showcasing Belizean titles and sharing the country’s literary and cultural heritage with visitors from Mexico and beyond. We participated alongside Cubola Productions, a Belizean publisher based in Benque Viejo del Carmen, and the Belize National Library Service and Information System (BNLSIS).
Our participation created opportunities to connect with readers, raise awareness of Belizean literature, and strengthen cultural and professional links across the region. We hope to build on this experience in 2027, helping more Belizean stories reach new audiences.

Supporting Belize’s Book Sector
International book fairs offer valuable opportunities for Belizean authors and publishers to showcase their work, develop professional relationships, and explore new markets. BBSN’s participation in FILEY is part of our ongoing commitment to promoting Belizean literature at home and abroad.
We welcome support from organisations, businesses, and individuals who share our vision of building a stronger, more connected book sector in Belize. Sponsorship and other contributions help make our participation possible and bring Belizean books to an international audience.
