BNLSIS

The Belize National Library Service and Information System (BNLSIS) is Belize’s national public library network, dedicated to promoting literacy, lifelong learning, and access to information throughout the country. Established to provide educational and cultural services to communities across Belize, BNLSIS manages public libraries and information centres that support readers of all ages, with a strong focus on children, students, and underserved communities.

Beyond lending books and preserving literary resources, BNLSIS plays an active role in national educational and cultural initiatives, including reading programmes, storytelling activities, research support, digital access services, and collaborations with schools, authors, and community organisations. Through its nationwide network and outreach efforts, BNLSIS continues to strengthen Belize’s reading culture while helping to preserve and promote the country’s literary and cultural heritage.
